Inkless Books is an independent digital magazine covering Reading, Authors, Reviews, Books and Publishing. Screens carry most of the reading now, and the experience varies more than the marketing admits. It is part of VUGA Network, a group of independent digital publications published in the United States.

How We Work

Coverage rests on use. A device is judged after a month of commuting, night reading and battery cycles, with turn latency, light evenness and repairability all recorded. A book review states what the story attempts and whether it lands, without a summary standing in for a verdict. Nothing is reviewed from a sample chapter.

What We Cover

Reading covers the practice itself: annotation and highlight systems, note export, comprehension and retention on screens, night reading, and the habits that hold through a busy period, with evidence cited where research exists.

Authors profiles the people publishing digitally, many independently — drafting routines, release schedules, pricing decisions, newsletter and serial audiences, and why some declined a traditional contract, with numbers included when writers share them.

Reviews delivers verdicts written after reading the whole title, fiction and nonfiction, new releases and backlist, each naming the reader it suits.

Books keeps the record of digital reading: retailer policy and royalty changes, device announcements, subscription adjustments, and titles pulled from stores or lending catalogs — for authors and readers whose income or library depends on platform decisions.

Publishing News covers the economics: royalty bands by price, subscription page-read rates, advertising cost against return, and what a first year of self-publishing typically produces — reported figures, not projections.
